Our Story:
A Journey of Self-Love, Survival, and Reclamation
Rise. Reflect. Reclaim.
This path I’ve walked is a living reflection of how self-love becomes liberation—especially in the face of systemic violence and invisibility. As a Black Muslimah navigating the complexities of life, I’ve carried the weight of societal expectations and the ache of not being seen. I searched for spaces that would honor my humanity, my softness, and my voice—but so often, I found myself alone.
Alone, but not without power.
Without access to therapy or traditional forms of care, I turned inward. I leaned into what I had—affirmations, essential oils, creativity. These weren’t luxuries. They were lifelines. They were rituals born from the resourcefulness passed down through generations of survivors. What began as a way to survive became a revolutionary practice of remembering who I am.
Rooted in Resourcefulness
Each essential oil blend became a sacred pause—a way to breathe, to reflect, to return to myself. One evening, after a day that nearly broke me, I created a blend that softened the sharpness inside me. It didn’t fix everything, but it reminded me that healing starts from within. That moment wasn’t just comforting—it was empowering.
Positive self-talk became more than a habit—it became a way home. When I whispered, I am invaluable. I am loved. I am enough, I wasn’t just speaking—I was rewriting my relationship with myself. I was rising.
The Birth of Ithiaely
That rising led me to create what I couldn’t find: Ithiaely. A space for healing, connection, and unapologetic softness. I named it after my family—my husband and children—who are the heartbeat of everything I create. We were in the midst of multiple crises, feeling like we didn’t matter. But through Ithiaely, I found a way to center us again. To remind us: even in the chaos, we are whole. We are worthy of care. We are worth remembering.
A Continuation: Black Self Wellth
As I grew, so did my mission. Black Self Wellth was born from Ithiaely—not to replace it, but to expand it. To offer others what helped me survive and begin to thrive. Through scent, affirmation, and story, I began reclaiming my voice on my own terms.
This work is deeply personal, but it’s never just about me. It’s about my ancestors who turned scarcity into abundance. Who passed down wisdom wrapped in prayer, plants, and poetry. I am carrying their legacy forward—with every blend, every affirmation, every post.
Entrepreneurship became my sanctuary. A place where I am free to create, to be heard, to be valued. My ancestors knew this path too. They built what they needed with what they had. Through Black Self Wellth, I honor that spirit while paving the way for a new kind of liberation—for me, for my children, for all of us.
Our Mission in Motion
Black Self Wellth is more than a brand—it’s a movement. A remembering. A revolution. It exists to make sure no one has to feel invisible in their own healing. It’s for the moments we pause, breathe deep, and remind ourselves of our power.
Self-love is not a trend—it’s a return to truth. It’s the quiet radical act of tending to ourselves in a world that asks us to disappear.
Whether you’re joining a community conversation, discovering the power of essential oils, or simply reclaiming five minutes of stillness, this space is for you.
This is your invitation. You are already powerful. You are already whole. You are already worthy of your own love.
Together, we rise. We reflect. We reclaim. And when we heal ourselves, we heal the world around us.
